Job Title:
Quality Technician – 3rd Shift Position Overview
We are seeking a detail‑oriented and proactive Quality Technician to join our 3rd‑shift manufacturing team. In this role, you will perform critical measurements, laboratory testing, and manufacturing audits to ensure all products meet strict internal and external specifications.
This is a full‑time, temporary / contract opportunity with a premier employer in the automotive/manufacturing sector.
Shift: 3rd Shift (Hourly / Full‑Time)
Compensation: $23.00 – $25.00/hour (Depending on experience)
Status: Contract / Temporary (No guarantee of permanent hire‑in)
CMM Operation: Operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) utilizing PC‑DMIS software.
Shift Inspections: Perform First Piece (First Shot) shiftly and Last Piece measurements/analysis, immediately reporting results to the production team.
Priority Management: Align daily workload with production and delivery priorities, including first‑piece analysis, product measurements, containment, and inspection/sorting.
Documentation: Accurately complete all applicable quality inspection documentation and records.
Containment & Control: Segregate suspect or nonconforming product from acceptable inventory. Participate in containment activities, trace product records to find the smallest suspect population, and establish clean points.
Quality Intervention: Initiate quality intervention following the Quality Reaction Plan, holding the authority to stop production when necessary.
Team
Collaboration:
Participate in shift hand‑off meetings to communicate updates and collaborate with incoming/outgoing team members.
Workplace Safety: Adhere to 5S policies to maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment, reporting any safety hazards to management.
QualificationsEducation & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent (Technical education/certification preferred).
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar quality role.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in the automotive or manufacturing industry (Highly preferred).
Proven experience with dimensional product quality inspection.
Technical Skills & KnowledgeCMM operation experience with PC‑DMIS software is highly preferred.
Strong capability in blueprint reading and basic manufacturing math.
Competence in making critical "quality decisions" based on data, measurement, and boundary analysis.
Familiarity with Quality Inspection and Sorting Methodology.
High dexterity in using precision measuring equipment.
Familiarity with MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
Fluency in English is required;
Spanish language skills are a plus.
Exceptional attention to detail and strong problem‑solving skills.
Strong communication skills and a team‑oriented mindset.
Flexibility to work overtime as required.
