Are you looking to work for a company that provides an innovative work environment, and your voice is heard? We have a position for a System Tool Developer to work onsite at our client in Rochester Hills, MI (this is a direct hire position).

What you will be doing:- Design, develop, and maintain data logger systems for in-vehicle recording of Camera, ultrasonic sensor, radar, and vehicle bus data, ensuring data integrity and time synchronization.
- Design, develop, and maintain reprocessing (re-simulation) systems to replay recorded sensor data through perception and system software for validation and regression testing.
- Develop system test tools and frameworks supporting HIL/SIL testing, data validation, and automated test execution.
- Build and optimize data processing pipelines handling large-scale sensor data across formats (MDF4, CSV, ORC, MP4, Parquet).
- Design and maintain cloud-based infrastructure for data ingestion, storage, reprocessing, and retrieval (AWS or similar).
- Develop image processing components for sensor data visualization, quality checks, and analysis tooling.
- Design and maintain database schemas and services for test data management, metadata indexing, and efficient retrieval.
- Collaborate with data collection, annotation, sensor calibration, and software teams to align tooling with development and validation needs.
- Gather, analyze, and document tool requirements from internal and external stakeholders.
- Conduct code reviews, write unit/integration tests, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to ensure tool quality and reliability.
- Provide user support, documentation, and training for developed tools across global teams.
- Stay updated on industry best practices in test tooling, data logging, and cloud technologies.
- Monitor and track project progress against schedules.
- Ensure efficient use of resources and effective task prioritization.
- Contribute to process definition, safety standards, and validation methods.
- Anticipate project requirements and proactively support cross-functional teams.
- Experience developing system test tools, data loggers, or reprocessing/re-simulation systems in automotive or autonomous vehicle settings.
- Strong proficiency in C++ and Python for tool and application development.
- Strong understanding of Camera, ultrasonic, and radar sensor data, data logging concepts, and time synchronization.
- Experience with database design and development (SQL and/or No
SQL). - Experience with cloud development, preferably AWS (S3, EC2, Lambda, or similar services).
- Solid knowledge of image processing techniques and libraries (e.g., OpenCV).
- Programming languages: C++ (required), Python (required); additional exposure to C, C#, or PySpark.
- Database skills: SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL), No
SQL, data modeling and query optimization. - Strong proficiency with MS Office.
- Strong communicator with stakeholders at all levels.
- Skilled in decision-making, prioritization, and agile teamwork.
- Analytical, goal-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Fluent in English (verbal and written).
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
- Innovative mindset with the ability to propose and deliver new solutions.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
- Risk management awareness with a focus on maintaining tool quality and reliability.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (Master's preferred).
- 1-4 years of relevant experience in software tool development.
- Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- Experience with automotive data logging or reprocessing systems.
- Experience in automotive workflows.
- Familiarity with autonomous driving standards, ADAS systems, and sensor calibration.
