Minimum Qualifications and Desired Qualifications are listed below. All qualifications are preferred unless otherwise required by an applicable collective bargaining agreement. Oakland University may consider qualifications, degrees, and/or experience deemed comparable and/or equivalent in its sole and exclusive discretion.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Access and Excel or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
• A minimum of four years’ broad-based accounting experience.
• Ability to use financial accounting technology including computer-based spreadsheet and database applications.
• Ability to manage complex financial activities and projects.
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with others.

• Master’s degree.
• CPA designation.
• Higher education experience.
• Tax research and preparation experience.

Position performs research and provides recommendations on various GASB and tax-related issues. Prepares financial analyses, assists with year-end closing, financial statement preparation and performs various investment administration activities. Prepares various Federal, state and local tax returns. Oversees staff on various projects. Provides advice and training to the campus community.
