Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Administration or Education or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience with specialized knowledge and experience within the field of special education.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and facilitate successful programs, goal setting, curriculum design and implementation and school improvement planning.
- Thorough knowledge of policies and procedures of the Michigan Department of Education and IDEA .
- Ability to work in culturally diverse settings.
- Ability to work as a team member and staff developer.
- Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with others

- Master’s Degree. Charter School Experience

Position Details
Position Purpose
Provide collaborative support and assist in the overall management and oversight of the School of Education and Human Services’ Office of Public School Academies. Responsible for oversight and support to charter schools for their delivery of pre-school programming and special education services and support. Serve as a resource for the charter schools to state and intermediate school district special education staff;
responsible for the review and assessment of documentation ensuring compliance with contract reporting requirements and applicable law; conduct site visits to schools in order to provide assistance with federal, state and local special education rules and regulations; assist management in analyzing student achievement data and presenting material to various constituents. Responsible for PSA Office student outreach activities and programs and assistance with marketing efforts.
