We announce the following Special Education vacancies in the Rochester Community Schools for the 2026-27 school year.

Speech and Language Pathologist
Full Time Positions
Districtwide
Qualifications- Masters degree in speech and language pathology.
- Meets state educational requirements including academic credit and practicum experience.
- Approval from ASHA (American Speech Hearing Association).
- Holds a State of Michigan, Speech‑Language Pathologist License.
Providing speech-language services to students, fostering the highest level of communicative competence to support student’s overall educational goals.
Performance Responsibilities- Completes screening and levels of MTTS.
- Provides initial and re‑evaluations to assess and diagnose a variety of communication disorders, i.e., speech sounds, language disorders, voice, fluency, social communication.
- Writes evaluations and develops measurable goals and programming to meet student needs.
- Provides consultation to classroom teachers and other educational personnel servicing general education and special education students.
- Provides direct service to students with communication disorders across education settings and programs.
- Coordinates methods of teaching with classroom teachers and other educators working with the students with communication disorders.
- Provides consultation to parents of children tested but not eligible for a direct service program.
- Provides consultation with parents regarding children’s progress and home programming.
- Acts as a member of a multidisciplinary team with a specialization in speech and language and the impact of those skills within the educational setting.
- Implements requirements set forth by the mandated Individualized Educational Planning Committee.
- Maintains appropriate paperwork as mandated by state law.
- Acts as a liaison between school and community agencies.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent of Special Populations, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Principal and/or Supervisor.
- Participates in Medicaid billing.
Per Rochester Education Association Master Agreement.
