Job Description

Summary:

This is a part-time, temporary instructor position to teach on an ongoing, as-needed basis. We are seeking qualified professionals with current industry knowledge and teaching experience in project management including areas such as project planning and scheduling, risk management, Agile and Scrum methodologies, project leadership and communication, and project cost and resource management.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

* Develop and update course syllabi in consultation with the PACE Executive Director, using the PMI PMBOK Guide and approved syllabus template and ensuring alignment with program competencies and learning objectives.

* Prepare and deliver online, evening course content in the assigned instructional format, including lectures, learning activities, case studies, and assessments relevant to project management practices.

* Communicate clear teaching objectives and learning outcomes to students, including detailed grading policies, expectations, and course requirements aligned with industry standards such as PMI guidelines.

* Evaluate student achievement of learning outcomes through assignments, examinations, and applied project-based assessments, and assign grades in accordance with program standards.

* Respond to student inquiries, including questions related to final grades, and consult with the Program Director as needed.

* Maintain current knowledge of professional practices, industry standards, and emerging trends in project management.

* Participate in required orientations, meetings, and complete mandatory training programs by PACE-established deadlines.

* Employ culturally competent and inclusive teaching strategies that support engagement, belonging, and success for both domestic and international students.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Project Management Professional (PMP)

* Minimum of three years of professional experience in project management

* Minimum 1 year of experience teaching PMP or higher education project management courses

Candidates should possess:

* Current knowledge and demonstrated proficiency in project management principles and practices, including areas such as project planning, scheduling, risk management, agile methodologies, and stakeholder engagement.

* Commitment to the highest standards of academic excellence and integrity.

* Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex project management concepts, frameworks, and tools clearly and effectively.

* Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to facilitate discussions, guide teams, and work collaboratively with students and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.

* Proficiency with or willingness to learn instructional technology and online teaching tools, including platforms used for virtual collaboration and project-based learning.

* Active engagement in professional project management associations (e.g., PMI) and a commitment to ongoing professional development and industry certification standards (e.g., PMP, CAPM).

* Ability to work effectively with international professionals and students, demonstrating cultural awareness and sensitivity in a global project management context.
