Job DetailsThis is a special education teaching vacancy for the 2026-27 school year at Rochester High School. The position is full‑time (1.0 FTE).
Qualifications- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate in Special Education
- Michigan Teaching Endorsement in Cognitive Impairment (CI)
- Experience working with students with cognitive impairments, preferred
- Alternative qualifications acceptable if deemed appropriate by the Board
To develop, instruct, support, and implement individualized programs for students who require specialized instruction and individualized supports through Special Education Programs and Services and Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
Performance Responsibilities- Comply with timelines, laws, and regulations that relate to district, state, and federal policies and procedures
- Monitor and document student progress on IEP goals
- Collaborate with all service providers and other staff to develop instruction and support goals designed to meet students’ learning needs
- Compile and submit monthly Medicaid reports
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of individual students
- Participate in building meetings as directed by the building principal
- Perform other duties as requested by the Building Principal, Special Education Supervisor(s), Director of Special Education, or Assistant Superintendent
