Job Goal:
The Campus Principal serves as the lead educational and operational administrator for their designated campus, ensuring an academically rigorous, faith‑filled, and well‑managed school environment. Reporting to the Head of School, the Principal oversees daily academics, faculty, student life, and campus operations while aligning with the school's Catholic identity and strategic goals.

Responsibilities
  • Religious and Spiritual Leadership
    • Uphold the Catholic identity of the school and integrate faith into all aspects of campus life.
    • Collaborate with the Faith Formation Coordinator, faculty, and students to foster faith formation, liturgies, retreats, and service.
    • Ensure faculty and staff promote Catholic values in instruction and student interactions.
    • Build strong relationships with parishes, priests, and religious leaders.
    • Promote a positive school culture and climate where students and staff thrive.
  • Academic Leadership
    • Act as the chief instructional leader, ensuring high academic standards.
    • Oversee curriculum implementation, instructional quality, and assessment.
    • Guide faculty in data‑driven instruction, professional learning, and curriculum development.
    • Support student needs through accommodation plans and intervention programs.
    • Conduct classroom walkthroughs, observations, and formal teacher evaluations.
    • Ensure compliance with state, Archdiocesan, and accrediting standards.
  • Student Affairs & Campus Life
    • Maintain a positive, structured school culture with high expectations for academics and behavior.
    • Oversee student discipline, attendance, and behavioral interventions.
    • Work with faculty, counselors, and parents to support student well‑being and social‑emotional growth.
    • Implement character formation programs, leadership initiatives, and extracurricular activities.
    • Supervise student activities, athletics, and campus safety protocols.
  • Daily Operations & Faculty Management
    • Administer day‑to‑day campus operations, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Lead faculty and staff meetings, setting clear expectations and goals.
    • Oversee faculty hiring, onboarding, and professional development in collaboration with the Head of School.
    • Conduct teacher evaluations and provide feedback for growth.
    • Manage campus schedules, calendars, and school events.
    • Maintain effective communication with students, parents, and staff.
    • Support technology integration in the classroom.
  • Collaboration with School Leadership
    • Work with the Head of School to implement policies and strategic initiatives.
    • Assist in campus budgeting and financial planning.
    • Provide regular reports to the Head of School on campus performance.
    • Represent the campus in Board meetings, diocesan gatherings, and professional development.
    • Serve as a member of various school committees as assigned by the Head of School.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of School.
  • Facilities & Safety Oversight
    • Ensure campus facilities are well‑maintained, safe, and conducive to learning.
    • Coordinate with the Facilities Manager on maintenance and safety inspections.
    • Oversee safety protocols, emergency drills, and crisis management strategies.
Job Requirements
  • Religious Affiliation:
    Must be a practicing Catholic in good standing with the Roman Catholic Church, with a strong commitment to promoting the school's Catholic identity and faith formation.
  • Educational Degrees:
    Mistr’s degree in Educational Leadership, School Administration, or a related field required; a Bachelor’s degree may be accepted conditionally if a Master's program is pursued.
  • Experience:

    Minimum of 3 to 5 years of successful classroom teaching and/or educational administrative experience.
  • State Certification:
    Must hold or be eligible to obtain a valid Michigan teaching certificate and an administrative credential.
  • Background Check:
    Successful completion of a criminal background check and mandatory “Safe Environment” or “Protecting God’s Children” training as required by the Archdiocese of Detroit.
