TEACHING VACANCY: RESOURCE ROOM TEACHER

Rochester High School, Rochester Community Schools, 1.0 FTE, for the 2026‑27 school year. Applications will be accepted until filled.

Qualifications

Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate in area of Special Education, with EX endorsement preferred.
Bachelor’s degree and/or endorsement in mathematics (EX), preferred.
Physical and mental ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
Alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Salary

Per Rochester Education Association Master Agreement.

Selection Process

Selection will be determined by the appropriate administrators based upon experience, qualifications, and professional attributes.

Job Goal

To devise and implement individualized programs for students who have special needs which prevent them from learning through traditional means.

Performance Responsibilities

Provides direct instruction to students in a resource learning environment or team‑teaching with general education teachers and facilitates case management services to students eligible for special education.

Evaluates the progress of students eligible for special education.

Communicates with parents regarding questions and concerns they may have relating to the students’ programs and services.

Collaborates with General Education teachers to ensure appropriate instruction and supports for students eligible for special education.

Develops and implements IEPs and related documents for assigned students.

Performs other duties as requested by the Special Education Administrator or Building Principal.

Reports To

Building Principal and Secondary Special Education Administrator.
