Campus Principal

The Campus Principal serves as the lead educational and operational administrator for their designated campus, ensuring an academically rigorous, faith-filled, and well-managed school environment. Reporting to the Head of School, the Campus Principal oversees daily academics, faculty, student life, and campus operations while aligning with the school's Catholic identity and strategic goals.

Job Responsibilities

Religious and Spiritual Leadership

  • Upholds the Catholic identity of the school, integrating faith into all aspects of campus life.
  • Collaborates with the Faith Formation Coordinator, faculty, and students to foster faith formation, liturgies, retreats, and service.
  • Ensures faculty and staff promote Catholic values in instruction and student interactions.
  • Builds strong relationships with parishes, priests, and religious leaders.
  • Promotes a positive school culture and climate where students and staff thrive.

Academic Leadership

  • Serves as the chief instructional leader, ensuring high academic standards.
  • Oversees curriculum implementation, instructional quality, and assessment.
  • Guides faculty in data-driven instruction, professional learning, and curriculum development.
  • Supports student needs through accommodation plans and intervention programs.
  • Conducts classroom walkthroughs, observations, and formal teacher evaluations.
  • Ensures compliance with state, Archdiocesan, and accrediting standards.

Student Affairs & Campus Life

  • Maintains a positive, structured school culture with high expectations for academics and behavior.
  • Oversees student discipline, attendance, and behavioral interventions.
  • Works with faculty, counselors, and parents to support student well-being and social-emotional growth.
  • Implements character formation programs, leadership initiatives, and extracurricular activities.
  • Supervises student activities, athletics, and campus safety protocols.

Daily Operations & Faculty Management

  • Administers day-to-day campus operations, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Leads faculty and staff meetings, setting clear expectations and goals.
  • Oversees faculty hiring, onboarding, and professional development in collaboration with the Head of Schools.
  • Conducts teacher evaluations and provides feedback for growth.
  • Manages campus schedules, calendars, and school events.
  • Maintains effective communication with students, parents, and staff.
  • Supports technology integration in the classroom.

Collaboration with School Leadership

  • Works with the Head of School to implement policies and strategic initiatives.
  • Assists in campus budgeting and financial planning.
  • Provides regular reports to the Head of School on campus performance.
  • Represents the campus in Board meetings, diocesan gatherings, and professional development.
  • Serves as a member of various school committees, as assigned by the Head of School.

Facilities & Safety Oversight

  • Ensures campus facilities are well-maintained, safe, and conducive to learning.
  • Coordinates with Facilities Manager on maintenance and safety inspections.
  • Oversees safety protocols, emergency drills, and crisis management strategies.
Job Requirements

Religious Affiliation:
You must be a practicing Catholic in good standing with the Roman Catholic Church, with a strong commitment to promoting the school's Catholic identity and faith formation.

Educational Degrees: A Master's degree in Educational Leadership, School Administration, or a related field is required, though a Bachelor's degree may be accepted conditionally in some dioceses if you commit to completing a Master's program.

Experience:

Most schools require a minimum of 3 to 5 years of successful classroom teaching and/or educational administrative experience.

State Certification:
You must hold or be eligible to obtain a valid Michigan teaching certificate and an administrative credential.

Background Check:
Successful completion of criminal background checks and mandatory "Safe Environment" or "Protecting God's Children" training is required by the Archdiocese of Detroit.
