Pre-K - GSRP Associate Teacher

Rochester Community Schools Early Childhood Education Center – Rochester, Michigan

Starting Date: Immediately

Location: District Wide

Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8 hours/day

Hourly Rate: $18.37/hr.

Start Date: 8/12/2026 (2026-27 School Year)

• Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education.
• CDA (Child Development Credential) or currently enrolled in a CDA program.
• Training and experience with the High Scope preschool curriculum and High Scope COR assessment (preferred).
• GSRP experience (preferred).
• Certification in CPR and First Aid.
• Ability to obtain school and child care fingerprinting/background check.
• Ability to perform the physical demands of the position, including bending, lifting, reaching overhead, moving indoors and outdoors, and actively engaging in activities with young children.
• Regular, reliable, and punctual attendance.
• Alternative qualifications acceptable as determined by the Supervisor of Preschool Programs.

Provide a nurturing, safe environment that offers a developmentally appropriate learning experience for preschoolers and facilitates knowledge and/or skills based on the High Scope Preschool Curriculum, aligned with the Early Childhood Standards of Quality (Birth to Kindergarten).

• Demonstrate growth in competency areas as outlined in the Michigan Core Knowledge and Core Competencies for the Early Care and Education Workforce.
• Meet qualifications and responsibilities for the role as stated in the Licensing Rules for Child Care Centers, the GSRP Implementation Manual, and the code of ethics published by NAEYC.
• Adhere to the Code of Ethical Conduct published by NAEYC.
• Comply with all Rochester Community Schools Board Policies and the Early Childhood Personnel Manual.
• Implement the High Scope Preschool curriculum with fidelity, as measured by state program quality tools and Child Observation Record Advantage.
• Plan and implement all parts of the daily routine using a team‑teaching model with the GSRP Teacher.
• Consult with the Early Childhood Director or Coordinator to discuss issues and establish strategies for managing child behavior.
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with children, staff, families, and the community.
• Demonstrate punctual attendance to ensure consistent support and continuity of services.
• Attend professional development as required.
• Keep accurate records, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Early Childhood Director.
