Research Associate - Early Literacy

Position Purpose

The Department of Human Development and Child Studies (HDCS), housed in the School of Education and Human Services, invites applications for a part‑time Research Associate position to work on a newly funded research and evaluation project focused on Early Literacy coaching.

Responsibilities include literature review, document review, and instrument design; developing interview/focus group protocols and conducting interviews/focus groups; managing and arranging data collection, including supervising focus‑group interviewers; survey data collection, entry, cleaning, and processing; coding and data analysis; assisting with report writing; and other tasks as assigned.

• Earned PhD in Early Childhood Education
• Attendance at the Essentials Instructional Practices in Early Literacy Training of Trainers (TOT) in Birth to 3 and/or Prekindergarten
• Knowledge and/or experience conducting interviews and focus groups
• Strong background in qualitative research
• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
• Good command of Google Suite
• Open to learning new technology and research approaches

Prior experience with program evaluation.

Casual (19hrs or less, No Benefits).
