Job DescriptionTitle: Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) teacher (Rule 340.1755) within Rochester Community Schools Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) classrooms.
OverviewThis full‑time classroom teacher works part of a team to coordinate educational services for students eligible for special education through implementation of the High Scope Curriculum and in accordance with the GSRP guidelines.
Key Responsibilities- Teach whole group or small group lessons, team with staff, monitor and implement IEP goals within daily routines.
- Collaborate and consult with GSRP teacher, associate teacher, and special education ancillary staff.
- Support assessment and evaluation findings through data collection and tracking.
- Coordinate or provide modification and accommodation of curricular material as needed.
- Complete data collection activities, training, and reporting as directed by the Oakland Schools and the Michigan Department of Education.
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certification in the area of responsibility.
- Current, valid Michigan Teacher Certification with special education in early childhood (ZS/ZA endorsement).
- Ability to work well with students, staff, and parents in a collaborative fashion.
- Alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
Salary: Per Rochester Education Association Master Agreement
