Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors’ degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Two years’ experience working in a higher education administrative office.
- Experience and skill with staff training and supervision.
- Experience and skill with event planning and coordination.
- Experience working in a student information system.
- Demonstrate a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
- Proven ability to work independently and in a team setting.
- Experience working with individuals from underrepresented groups.
- Experience working with individuals from countries outside the United States.
- Ability to work with a diverse audience.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrate organizational skills, attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage time and resources.
- Ability to work occasional events supporting graduate education, including evenings and weekends.
- Banner, Microsoft Office and Degree Works experience.
- Strong familiarity with Oakland University.
- Experience with graduate students, including both domestic and international.
- Master’s degree.
Unless otherwise required by an applicable collective bargaining agreement, all minimum, additional and desired qualifications are preferred, but qualifications, degrees, and/or experience deemed comparable and/or equivalent by Oakland University in its sole and exclusive discretion may be considered.

Position Information Position Details Position PurposeThe Graduate Student Services Coordinator supervises and oversees the team that supports the graduate student lifecycle from application through graduation, and will have overall responsibility for the programs and students assigned to their subteam. These responsibilities include serving as a liaison among the Graduate School, students and programs; monitoring students’ progress; assist in interpreting policy and ensuring compliance; and serving as a professional resource for academic programs.
