About the role

As a Controls and Power Systems Designer, you’ll translate customer requirements into robust electrical solutions and jump in to troubleshoot equipment when needed. You’ll move fluidly between design, documentation, validation, and customer support—owning the details that make complex systems work safely and reliably.

A day in this role Review customer-supplied specifications and turn them into clear control and network drawings.

Develop and modify electrical and pneumatic designs by identifying project objectives, constraints, and issues.

Research and apply control engineering techniques and emerging approaches to improve system performance.

Participate in formal Risk Assessments to ensure safety and compliance.

Author detailed Sequences of Operation to guide implementation and testing.

Create Bills of Materials that meet technical needs and stay within budget.

Verify and validate your designs to confirm they meet requirements.

Produce complete system documentation as required for build, test, and maintenance.

Provide responsive customer support throughout the project lifecycle.

Perform any additional duties assigned by management to support project and team success.

Qualifications & experience

Typical background:
Bachelor’s degree in electrical or computer engineering (preferred, not required).Approximately 5 years of direct field experience (or equivalent).Proven technical aptitude with strong troubleshooting and documentation abilities.

Comfort managing multiple priorities and advancing several projects in parallel.

Collaborative mindset for working in a multi‑disciplined team environment.

Tools, standards, and skills

Familiarity with NFPA, ISO, and CSA standards.

Design experience with EPLAN and/or AutoCAD Electrical.

Willingness to train in EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical, and SISTEMA is required.

Rigorous, analytical problem-solver who thinks clearly under pressure.
