Surgical Technologist

$45/hr Contract | OR Surgical Technologist
Long 12.5-hour shifts with premium pay. Seeking experienced OR Surgical Technologists to support general surgical services, with opportunities across multiple specialties.

Under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse and the surgical team, the Surgical Technologist is responsible for preparing and maintaining the sterile field, handling surgical instruments, and anticipating the needs of the surgical team during procedures. This role also supports patient preparation, transport, and operating room turnover while ensuring patient safety, infection control, and comfort standards are met.

This is a contract opportunity supporting general surgical services, with exposure to orthopedic, robotic, and other specialty cases as needed.

• Scrub on general surgical procedures and assist across additional specialties as assigned
• Prepare the operating room by setting up instruments, equipment, and supplies based on case type
• Ensure proper functioning of instruments and equipment prior to use
• Maintain sterile technique and comply with infection control and safety standards
• Anticipate surgeon and surgical team needs during procedures
• Support patient preparation, positioning, transport, and comfort
• Assist with admitting, transferring, and discharging patients from the OR
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized operating room environment
• Manage supplies responsibly and assist with par level adjustments
• Respond to emergent situations according to established procedures
• Maintain confidentiality of patient and department information
• Participate in education, audits, and departmental initiatives
• Assist with training or precepting new Surgical Technologists as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Shift: 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• On-call: 2 to 3 weeknight shifts every 6 weeks
• On-call hours: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Required response time: within 1 hour

• Operating Room Surgical Technologist experience required
• Experience in orthopedic, robotic, or specialty cases is a plus but not required
• Willingness to support multiple service lines and adapt to different case types
