GENERAL

SUMMARY:

The Data Center Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations and maintenance of our data center facilities. This role requires an individual with a deep understanding of data center infrastructure, strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage a team of technical professionals.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Operational Management

* Ensure the data center operates at peak efficiency, maintaining uptime and performance standards.

* Oversee the implementation and maintenance of data center policies, procedures, and best practices.

* Monitor data center performance and infrastructure to identify and resolve issues promptly

* Coordinate and manage routine maintenance, upgrades, and repairs of data center equipment.

* Team Leadership

* Lead, mentor, and manage a team of data center technicians and engineers.

* Provide training and development opportunities for team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.

* Ensure effective communication and collaboration within the team and with other departments.

* Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.

* Capacity Planning and Management

* Plan and manage data center capacity, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently.

* Monitor and forecast resource usage to anticipate future needs and challenges.

* Work with stakeholders to plan for data center expansion or consolidation as required.

* Security and Compliance

* Implement and enforce security protocols to protect data center infrastructure and data.

* Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and corporate policies.

* Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities.

* Vendor and Stakeholder Management

* Manage relationships with vendors and service providers to ensure quality and cost-effective services.

* Negotiate contracts and service level agreements (SLAs) with vendors.

* Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their requirements and provide data center solutions that meet their needs.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

REQUIRED:

* Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

* Minimum of 10 years of experience in data center management or a similar role.

* Proven experience in managing data center operations, infrastructure, and teams.

* Previous facility management experience.

* Advanced knowledge of large electrical and cooling system infrastructure.

* Strong knowledge of data center infrastructure components, including servers, storage, networking.

* Proficiency in data center management tools and software.

* Experience with virtualization technologies and cloud computing.

* Understanding of data center security best practices and compliance requirements.

* Excellent leadership and team management skills.

* Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

* Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

* Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
