Financial Compliance, Accounting Manager, Accounting & Finance
Position Purpose
Provide strategic leadership and oversight for the University's accounting services functions, which include responsibility for the University's general ledger system, and related fund accounting practices. Lead and support directors across Central Accounting, Accounts Payable, Student Business Services, Payroll, and Purchasing. Direct the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures that promote operational excellence, high quality customer service, and robust compliance.
Contribute to a results-oriented culture through collaboration with the Finance & Administration leadership team. Serve as a key partner in constructive conflict resolution, continuous improvement, and the advancement of the University's goals.
- Master's degree in Accounting or related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- A minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible administrative supervisory experience, including at least two years at a managerial level.
- A minimum of five (5) years' experience in financial management, preferably in higher education.
- Experience in fiscal and staff management.
- Proficiency with personal computers, spreadsheet software applications, and enterprise wide automated financial systems.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with others.
- Professional certification (e.g., C.M.A., C.P.A.);
University fund accounting experience. - Database management experience;
