Maintenance Technician

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our manufacturing team in Rochester, Michigan. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing automated production equipment to ensure maximum uptime and production efficiency. The ideal candidate will have strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills, hands-on PLC programming experience, and experience working with automated vision inspection systems, preferably Keyence cameras.

Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain automated assembly and production equipment.
  • Diagnose electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues.
  • Program, modify, and troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot vision inspection systems, with preference for Keyence Vision Systems.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on production machinery.
  • Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
  • Install, test, and commission new manufacturing equipment.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records using the company's CMMS system.
  • Work closely with Engineering and Production to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety policies and OSHA regulations.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience programming and troubleshooting PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or equivalent).
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting skills (24

    VDC, 120

    VAC, 480

    VAC). Mechanical troubleshooting experience with automated equipment.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Willingness to work overtime and occasional weekends as needed.

Preferred:

  • Experience with Keyence Vision Systems/Cameras.
  • Experience in plastics manufacturing or plastic assembly operations.
  • Familiarity with robots, servo motors, VFDs, and HMI programming.
  • Experience with industrial networking (Ether Net/IP, Device Net, or similar).
  • Associate degree or technical certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Electrical Technology, or related field.
