Community Engagement Research Officer

Overview

Oakland University is hiring a Community Engagement Research Officer to direct the Community Engaged Research Center and recruit faculty for community engagement projects. The officer will serve as a liaison between campus and community partners, oversee data collection to support community engagement classification renewal, generate revenue through grants, and facilitate faculty publications to help the university achieve R1 status.

• Direct the Community Engaged Research Center and recruit faculty interested in community engagement.
• Act as liaison between faculty, staff, students, and community partners to increase community-engaged projects at Oakland University.
• Cultivate and develop community partner relationships.
• Oversee data collection for Carnegie Elective Classification in Community Engagement renewal and other reporting needs.
• Support experiential learning opportunities for students in research addressing real-world problems.
• Generate new revenue through grants and contracts.

• Require a bachelor s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field with 5+ years of higher education and community-engaged work experience.
• Experience securing and administering external funding, including grants and philanthropic funds.
• Familiarity with the Carnegie Elective Classification in Community Engagement and knowledge of Southeast Michigan communities.

• Salary is $104,617 annually; full-time position in the Office of Research Administration.
