the plant/vertebrate molecular biology lab at oakland university is seeking a motivated undergraduate student to join the team. An assistant position is available for the fall 2026 / winter 2027 academic year. Our lab uses molecular biology and genomics techniques such as pcr, rt-pcr, crispr-cas9, mammalian cell culture, and rnaseq, and we work with both plants and animals. This opportunity is ideal for students seeking hands-on research experience, including presenting scientific data ase ensure you have a federal work-study (fws) award to be eligible to apply.

• maintain lab cleanliness and organization
• prepare buffers, reagents, and other materials for experiments
• initially, assistance with various molecular and genomics techniques while being trained.
• support graduate students and the pi in routine laboratory experiements.

• previous lab experience is helpful but not necessary.
• attention to detail, dependability, and eagerness to learn.
