Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or a related field by start date.
- Prior laboratory experience in an academic research setting required.
- Experience with basic laboratory skills such as accurate pipetting, preparation of buffers and reagents, sample handling, record keeping, and adherence to laboratory safety procedures.
- Candidate must be organized, dependable, detail-oriented, and able to follow written orders.
- Prior research experience in biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, genetics, or related biomedical field.
- Experience with common laboratory techniques such as protein assays, gel electrophoreses, buffer preparation, sample processing, and data entry is preferred.
- Ability to work independently, maintain careful records, and contribute to a collaborative laboratory.
Continue research projects in the Siebert-McKenzie Research Laboratory.
Job Duties
Assist with laboratory activities including preparation of buffers and reagents, sample organization, basic biochemical and molecular biology assays, data entry, and maintenance of laboratory records. Support active research projects by the continual assistant with ongoing experiments; maintain laboratory organization and safety, and help with inventory.
