Accountant - Rochester, MN
Our client, a dynamic and growing metal fabrication facility, is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join their team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the company’s financial operations and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
Responsibilities:- Accounts Payable/Receivable:
- Process invoices from vendors and suppliers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Prepare and process vendor payments in a timely manner.
- Manage customer accounts, including invoicing, collections, and resolving customer inquiries.
- Monitor accounts receivable aging and implement strategies to improve cash flow.
- General Ledger Accounting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger accounts.
- Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, adjustments, and reconciliations.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Inventory Management:
- Assist with the tracking and reconciliation of inventory levels, including raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
- Analyze inventory usage and identify areas for improvement.
- Cost Accounting:
- Assist with the analysis of production costs, including labor, materials, and overhead.
- Prepare and analyze cost reports to identify areas for cost reduction and process improvement.
- Financial Reporting:
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including income statements and balance sheets.
- Prepare and analyze key financial metrics and reports for management.
- Tax Compliance:
- Assist with the preparation and filing of sales and use tax returns.
- Bachelors degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of experience in an accounting role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and GAAP.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software applications.
- Experience with Quick Books is essential.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong work ethic and a commitment to meeting deadlines.
