Primary
Purpose:
Responsible for performing receptionist and clerical duties as related to the office of the building principal.
- Education / Certification: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Special Knowledge /
Skills:- Broad knowledge of MS Word.
- Fluent in English and Spanish (verbal and written) preferred.
- Technology skills in all Microsoft office programs.
- Strong time management skills.
- Ability to operate various office equipment (copier/fax machine).
- Effective communication skills with staff, students and parents.
- Ability to work with people effectively.
- Human relation skills.
- Ability to exercise good judgement in performing responsibilities.
- Experience: Previous office experience preferred.
- Communication / Reception and Phones:
- Interact with and provide assistance to teachers, students, parents, school and district personnel.
- Assist in scheduling appointments, meetings and conferences.
- Answer telephone, record, direct and deliver messages.
- Clerical Support:
- Perform necessary computer skills as needed by principal (i.e. word processing, database, graphics, spreadsheets and data entry).
- Assist with class scheduling.
- Prepare and maintain records, if necessary.
- Other:
- Participate in cross‑training.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Mental Demands:
- Maintain emotional control under stress.
- Work with frequent interruptions.
- This position requires regular in‑person interaction with the public.
- Physical Demands:
- Repetitive hand motions.
- Prolonged use of the computer.
- Frequent sitting, stooping, bending, pushing and pulling.
- Moving small stacks of textbooks, boxes, equipment and other campus equipment.
