It is a locally owned, union commercial specialty contractor that has proudly served southeastern Minnesota for more than 60 years. They specialize in framing and drywall systems, acoustical solutions, ceramic tile, resilient flooring, carpet, plaster, and EIFS installation. Compensation:$80,000 - $120,000 annually

Position Summary:

Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated

Estimator/Project Manager specializing in Commercial Resilient Drywall to join their team. This dynamic role offers the opportunity to oversee projects from pre-construction through completion. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing competitive bids, securing contracts, managing project execution, and ensuring profitable project delivery. This position works closely with office personnel, field staff, suppliers, subcontractors, and customers to ensure successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with general contractors, suppliers, manufacturers, and customers.

Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs utilizing estimating software.

Develop competitive pricing for labor, materials, and equipment based on historical data, supplier pricing, and project requirements.

Prepare comprehensive bid proposals and negotiate work proposals.

Produce concise proposals and bid documentation.

Follow up on submitted bids and maintain customer communication.

Analyze completed projects and update production databases to support accurate and profitable future estimates.

Monitor local market conditions and industry trends.

Project Management Responsibilities

Manage projects from contract award through completion.

Review and administer contract documents, RFIs, change orders, and project modifications.

Procure and manage materials to ensure timely deliveries and compliance with project schedules.

Coordinate with superintendents to meet manpower and scheduling requirements.

Monitor project costs, production rates, and profitability throughout project execution.

Identify project risks, challenges, and production shortfalls and implement corrective actions.

Conduct post-project evaluations to identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiencies.

Maintain positive working relationships with customers, vendors, and project stakeholders.

Ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and profitably.

Required Qualifications

Minimum of three (3) years of commercial estimating and/or project management experience.

Strong understanding of commercial construction bidding and contracting processes.

Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

Excellent planning, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities.

Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.

Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Professional verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to travel to and navigate active construction sites, including stairs and scaffolding.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with On-Screen Takeoff software.

Knowledge of commercial resilient drywall.

Experience working with commercial drywall or acoustical construction projects.
