The Bilingual Client Support Specialist serves as the primary point of contact for participants, community members, and staff, providing exceptional customer service and support across multiple program areas. This role assists with participant intake, referrals, data management, and overall program operations. The Specialist fosters a positive, professional, and welcoming environment, upholds confidentiality, promotes participant‑centered service, and supports de‑escalation and problem resolution as needed.
In addition, the position provides administrative and office support, collaborates with team members to ensure smooth daily operations, contributes to ongoing process improvements to enhance participant services, provides bilingual translation and interpretation support to ensure clear communication between clients and staff while enhancing access to services for individuals with limited English proficiency. This full‑time position (40 hours per week) is Monday‑Friday, 8am‑4pm and will be based in Rochester.
Required Qualifications:- Bilingual (written and verbal) in Somali and English required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least one year of work experience in a customer service role or working in direct contact with the public
- Ability to pass a required background study, as defined by the position
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
- Accurate typing and data entry skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams
- Proficiency with office equipment including printers, scanners, multi‑line phone, etc.
- Relevant lived experience, as applicable to the role
- Daily use of a computer and standard office equipment in an office‑based setting
- Occasional travel using personal means to cover other office locations
- Occasional bending, squatting, or reaching during routine tasks
- Occasional lifting and carrying of items up to 20 lbs.
