The City of Inver Grove Heights is seeking seasonal staff to assist with early voting activities during the 2026 general election.

All staff must be versatile enough to work in a fast-paced environment and serve a variety of functions including: efficient and accurate processing of early voting ballot requests, provide customer service to absentee voters by phone and in-person, and provide election information to the general public.

This position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to understand election laws, rules, and procedures; ability to learn and utilize automated systems including the Statewide Voter Registration System; strong computer skills; strong customer service skills.

Assist with various early voting activities: customer service, assist in-person voters, fulfill absentee ballot requests, provide election information to the public, an assist with test decks and election preparation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions; ability to communicate clearly and effectively; excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong computer skills including Word, Excel, and Outlook; ability to work in a fast-paced environment; ability to learn and utilize automated systems including the Statewide Voter Registration System; understanding and application of databases; simple math skills; comfortable working with and serving a diverse population of voters;

ability to manage time effectively; physical and emotional stamina; ability to attend election training.

DESIRABLE

QUALIFICATIONS:

Previous experience processing absentee ballots; previous experience working within the Statewide Voter Registration System; strong knowledge and understanding of current election laws, rules, and procedures; previous experience as an election judge.

SCHEDULE:

October 16 through November 2, 2026

During the cycle, daily hours may vary, however staff are needed to work weekdays and weekends. Staff should anticipate working full days when scheduled.
