Dental Hygienists play an essential role in patient education and preventative dental care while alsoworkingin partnership with our doctors. Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform hygiene clinical procedures, including oral prophylaxis, periodontal maintenance, scaling and rootplaning, sealants, fluoride, oral cancer screenings and x‑rays.
  • Educate patients on the importance of oral hygiene, as well as instructions and demonstrations of effective oral hygiene methods.
  • Communicate with doctor where there are opportunities in patients for restorative and/or periodontal needs.
  • Obtain and review dental history and/or records from patient (review patient health history and care slips) and ensure health history is updated for all returning patients.
Qualifications:
  • Degree or certificate in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program and a valid state license.
  • X‑Ray/Radiology Certification where state regulations specify.
  • Local Anesthesia/Nitrous Oxide certification where state regulations specify.

Working Environment &

Physical Requirements

This is a clinical working environment where potential exposure to hazardous waste and blood‑borne pathogens is possible. Requires prolonged periods of standing, sitting, leaning, and bending up to 8 hours a day. Will be required to carry, transport, and use tools and equipment. Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
