Description:
Wayzata Public Schools is currently seeking Special Education teachers with the ability, skills, and training necessary to work with a broad array of students with disabilities in a cross-categorical model, such that they can receive an appropriate education program in their neighborhood school.
Locations and schedules:
- Early Learning School:
July 8–July 31, Tuesday–Thursday, 9:00am–11:30am or 9:00am–12:00pm (12 days of instruction) - Plymouth Creek Elementary School:
July 7–July 31, Monday–Thursday 8:30am–11:30am (16 days of instruction) - Central Middle School:
July 7–July 31, Monday–Thursday 9:30am–12:30pm (16 days of instruction) - Wayzata High School:
July 7–July 31, Monday–Thursday 12:30pm–3:30pm (16 days of instruction) - Wayzata Transition School:
July 7–July 31, Monday–Thursday 8:30am–11:30am (16 days of instruction)
Location preference: Please specify any location preference in your application.
Qualifications- Special Education Licensure required for working with students in Federal Setting 1–3.
- Multiple licensure preferred.
- ASD Preferred.
- Ability to design and implement specially designed instruction tailored to meet the unique needs of students requiring special education services.
- Experience and willingness to work on general education teams and provide collaborative special education services with general education teachers is required.
- Ability to collaborate with paraprofessionals and to effectively direct the work delegated to them.
- Interest in and ability to relate well to elementary students.
- Experience with evaluation and eligibility determination for special education services preferred.
