Re-1 Valley School District is seeking reliable, flexible, and student-centered individuals to serve as substitute teachers across grades K-12. Substitute teachers provide continuity of instruction and classroom management in the absence of the regular classroom teacher, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Instructional Support
• Deliver lesson plans as provided by the classroom teacher
• Maintain instructional continuity aligned to district curriculum
• Adapt instruction as needed to meet diverse student needs
• Classroom Management
• Maintain a structured, respectful, and safe learning environment
• Implement school and district behavior expectations
• Supervise students throughout the school day (classroom, hallways, etc.)
• Student Support
• Promote positive relationships with students
• Ensure student safety at all times
• Support students with varying academic, social, and behavioral needs
• Professional Responsibilities
• Follow all district policies, procedures, and expectations
• Communicate effectively with school staff and administration
• Leave detailed notes regarding student progress and classroom activities

Qualifications

• Required:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to obtain or hold a valid Colorado Substitute Authorization or Teaching License through the Colorado Department of Education
• Ability to pass a background check
• Preferred:
• Bachelor's degree or higher
• Prior experience working with children or in an educational setting
• Strong classroom management and communication skills

Working Conditions

• Work is performed in a school environment across K-12 settings
• May require standing, walking, and active supervision throughout the day
• Must be adaptable to different classrooms, grade levels, and schedules
