The purpose of this position is to provide college-wide, multi-campus leadership, coordination, and oversight of comprehensive student life programs. This includes student activities, Student Life initiatives, Basic Needs programs (including SNAP benefits), Hunger Free Campus site management, voter engagement, and Wellness Center facilities oversight. The role also supervises transportation services, advising and staff supporting student clubs, Student Government, and special events.
Through these efforts, the position supports student engagement, retention, and overall success.
- Two (2) years of demonstrated supervisory or lead work experience, including responsibility for directing staff, coordinating work, or overseeing programs.
- Master’s degree may substitute for 18 months of experience.
- Bachelor’s degree may substitute for one year of experience.
- Associate’s degree may substitute for six months of experience.
- This degree must be in Student Affairs, Education, Human Services, or a related field.
- Ability to develop, implement, and evaluate student activities and programs using a collaborative, team-based approach.
- Skills in communication, both oral and written, in individual and group settings via phone or in person, sufficient to motivate students and influence behavior or turn a situation around and work with colleagues in a cooperative and respectful manner.
- Ability to use analytic reasoning to identify alternative solutions and approaches to problems.
- Demonstrated experience in grant writing, implementation, and program management.
- Knowledge of computer software applications and systems sufficient to enter data and create basic business correspondence, documents, and training presentations.
- Master's degree in Student Affairs, Education, Human Services, or a related field.
- A minimum of two (2) years of demonstrated supervisory or lead work experience, including staff oversight and program coordination.
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience managing budgets, including planning, monitoring, and reporting.
- Demonstrated experience designing, implementing, and assessing educational or co-curricular programs.
- Knowledge of Minn State system policies, procedures, and practices.
8 hours/day, 8:00-4:30, Monday-Friday, some weekends depending on events/food rescue (limited for one year only)
