Special Education Coordinator
The purpose of this position is to work with district and campus leaders to coordinate the IEP process on the assigned campus, including scheduling, providing notices to parents of ARD, ensuring the participation of required personnel, conducting IEP meetings in accordance with district procedures, working with district staff to ensure completeness of ARD documents, working with parents and providers to coordinate services, and with evaluation staff where appropriate.
Qualifications:
- Education/Certification:
Master's Degree, administrator certification preferred - Valid Texas teacher certification in special education
- Special Knowledge/
Skills:
Extensive knowledge of the ARD process, education of special education students Extensive knowledge of mediation and problem-solving skills Strong organizational skills Strong computer skills Excellent presenter and oral communicator Ability to conduct instruction and/or attend meetings and professional development Ability to work in under pressure and remain calm, diplomatic when working in stressful situations - Experience:
Five years teaching experience in special education preferred Campus leadership or administrative role highly preferred.

Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress - May be required to perform job duties including ability to conduct instruction, attend meetings and professional development, and make and receive phone calls in a virtual or remote workplace environment.
