Role Description

The Teacher role at RMSA is a full-time, on-site position based in Rochester, MN. The Teacher will design and deliver engaging STEAM-focused lessons that align with organizational curriculum and pacing, using project-based learning and data-driven interventions to support students of diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and implementing lessons, assessing student progress, maintaining accurate records, collaborating with colleagues, and participating in weekly STEAM training sessions.

The Teacher will communicate regularly with students, families, and staff, contribute to a positive classroom environment, and actively use provided training materials and support resources to improve instructional practice.

• Strong foundation in Education and Teaching, with experience working in classroom settings or similar learning environments.
• Ability to develop effective Lesson Planning that integrates STEAM concepts and project-based learning.
• Excellent Communication skills for engaging students, collaborating with colleagues, and partnering with families.
• Experience with Training, including receiving and applying instructional training and supporting peers when appropriate.
• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field; teaching certification or licensure is preferred.
• Experience working with English language learners or culturally diverse student populations is highly beneficial.
• Comfort using data to inform instruction and willingness to participate in ongoing professional development.
• Ability to establish an inclusive, safe, and supportive classroom environment and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced school setting.
