Safety Specialist

Location: South of Minneapolis, Minnesota (Onsite)

Duration: 3–6 Month Contract

Preference: Local candidates preferred

We're seeking an experienced Safety Specialist to support a manufacturing facility in Faribault, MN. This individual will help drive safety initiatives, ensure regulatory compliance, and promote a strong safety culture throughout the facility.

• Lead and support site health, safety, and environmental programs.
• Conduct safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
• Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and deliver employee safety training.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations.
• Maintain safety documentation, permits, and compliance records.
• Partner with operations, engineering, HR, and leadership to improve workplace safety.
• Support emergency response planning and safety committee activities.
• Provide guidance on industrial hygiene and environmental compliance programs.

• Bachelor's degree in Health, Safety, Environmental, or a related field.
• 3+ years of HSE/EHS experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety programs, including LOTO (Lockout/Tagout), Confined Space, PPE, PIT (Powered Industrial Trucks), Respiratory Protection, and Hearing Conservation.
• Experience conducting safety audits, incident investigations, and employee training.
• Working knowledge of environmental compliance, including waste management, air permitting, wastewater, stormwater, and EPCRA reporting.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• ASP or GSP certification is a plus.
• Spanish language skills are a plus.
• Ability to travel occasionally to support other facilities, as needed.
