Maternal Fetal Medicine Sonographer
Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) Sonographer is a highly skilled imaging professional who performs complex diagnostic and procedural ultrasound examinations in collaboration with Maternal Fetal Medicine physicians. This role involves advanced imaging of high-risk pregnancies, intrauterine interventions, and fetal diagnostic procedures requiring expert-level sonographic and critical thinking skills.
The MFM sonographer provides care for patients referred for detailed anatomic evaluation, fetal surveillance and fetal therapy. This position requires mastery of fetal and maternal anatomy, pathophysiology, and embryologic development, as well as the ability to adapt imaging approaches for rare or critical fetal conditions. The role also includes teaching responsibilities, interdepartmental collaboration, and ongoing integration of emerging imaging technologies.

Must have an associate's degree in a related field and be a graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited sonography program.
Must hold at least OB/Gyn ARDMS board certification at time of hire.
Must have strong communication skills involving interactions with patients, physicians, and other medical professionals. Ability to communicate preliminary findings to MFM physicians, Fellows and providers. Works independently with minimal supervision. Requires ability to think critically, make judgments, and proceed with action accordingly. MFM Sonographers are highly encouraged to be involved in professional development. This may include presenting cases at conferences, creating posters, and/or actively participating in department committees and functions.
Requires standing, walking, and pushing equipment for long periods of time. Requires the ability to lift or assist others with lifting patients of differing weight by mechanical lifting devices. Requires the ability to use isolation precaution techniques including using personal protective equipment. Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
Must be ARDMS registered with a minimum of OB/GYN registry.
Fetal Echo Registry is encouraged/preferred.
NT certification is preferred but not required.
CPR/BLS Certified or obtained within 90 days of employment
