Thetechnologistis responsible for performing routine, ambulatory, and prolonged EEG studies for patients of all ages in an inpatient setting.

This role will support patients in the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) as well as patientsinother inpatient settings.

This role requires adaptability to rapidly changing environments and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

The technologist is expected to apply best practices and clinicalexpertiseto tailor studies to each patient’s unique needs.

Key responsibilities includeaccuratepatient preparation, high-quality data acquisition, andmaintaininga safe testing environment. Competency in neurodiagnostic procedural testing is essential, including electrode application for adultandpediatricEEGs using the standard 10-20 or 10-10 systems.

Additional duties include monitoring andmaintainingEEG recordings for surgical, adult, and pediatric patients, responding to seizures, troubleshooting equipment,assisting with SPECT injections, and providing shift reports on relevant patient information. Acting as a liaison between nurses and physicians, the EEG Technologist ensures effective communication and collaboration to support patient care.

The technologist will also mentor studenttechnologistsrotatingthroughtheinpatientpractice.
