The Cloud Engineering 2 team within Cloud Services (Infrastructure) is excited to announce an opening for an Sr. IT Cloud Engineer for the AI Factory team. The candidate filling this position will be the technical lead for the team. This role includes incorporating enterprise architecture and security standards into solution design and implementation, working with the architect team to define architecture, understanding complex requests and breaking them down into actionable, well-designed solutions, serving as the technical lead by guiding and mentoring the engineering team.

This position requires deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform infrastructure services, including the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform (formerly Vertex AI) and its services (Agent Platform Workbench, Colab Enterprise, Model Registry, and Agent Engine model serving), Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Google Batch, Compute Engine, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Workflows, Cloud Storage, Big Query, Dataproc, and Cloud SQL. This position also requires extensive expertise with Terraform, Python, Azure Dev Ops, Azure Pipelines, Google Cloud APIs, Apigee APIs, and automation tools and concepts, along with the networking and security controls that protect the AI Factory perimeter—VPC Service Controls, Private Service Connect, Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) networking, IAM & Identity-Aware Proxy (IAP), Cloud Load Balancing, Cloud Armor, and Akamai Web Security.

This position requires familiarity with HIPAA/PHI and data-residency safeguards, Veracode, SailPoint, service accounts and permissions, Service Now, and SharePoint. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional technical competence and team leadership skills, possess strong communication and organizational skills, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

The IT Senior Cloud Engineer ensures that enterprise cloud solutions are optimized for cost and functionality and is responsible for execution of the cloud/infrastructure strategy set by architects. Develops internal and external compatibility of the system and subsystems. Develops highly complex scripts using a tool or combination of tools to automate a task or a series of tasks. Develops, complies, and may oversee team compliance with SLAs or OLAs.

Documents new or modified solutions, installation instructions and other system-related information. Writes configuration for cloud platforms leveraging appropriate tools. Collaborates with developers and is responsible for the 'Ops' part of Dev Ops. Develops and may maintain tools and frameworks that other teams use to smoothly develop their applications. Uses technology to implement automation and orchestration. Leads the implementation and integration of cloud solutions and technologies across business and IT functions, products, and platforms.

Proactively seeks new ways to integrate cloud solutions with existing enterprise tools and systems. Responsible for compliance of cloud solutions to architectural standards. Leads evaluations of enterprise cloud technology standards, tools, products, and solutions to identify opportunities for improvement. Partners with security staff to ensure Cloud solutions support maintenance of a secure technology environment. Responsible for planning and validating the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Cloud solutions.
