Role Overview
The Information Security Analyst supports Mayo Clinic’s Data Protection Program by helping monitor, analyze, and respond to potential data loss risks across the enterprise.
This role performs data protection monitoring, alert triage, case management, and escalation activities while partnering with teams across Information Security, Risk, and Technology to protect Mayo Clinic Data. The analyst serves as a liaison between technology and the business, collaborating with oversight committees, and applying industry-standard information security concepts, organizational change management, project management, and business analysis.
Key responsibilities include:
- Monitoring data protection events and analyzing potential data loss risks.
- Triage and prioritize alerts, manage cases, and coordinate escalation.
- Conducting information security assessments and ensuring compliance with Mayo’s Information Security policies.
- Creating, evaluating, and implementing security prototypes.
- Administering security processes and tools, coordinating training courses, and drafting policies, processes, and procedures.
- Managing a varied workload across multiple projects and staying current on security, technology, and healthcare trends.
Master’s degree in an applicable field and 2 years of experience, or Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field and 4 years of experience. Pertinent fields of study and experience include (but are not limited to) information security, operational analysis, process change, electronic systems implementation, leadership, systems analysis, and project management with enterprise initiatives.
