This is a limited tenure position that has been approved for 2 years.

This is a hybrid position and must be located within 100 miles of a Mayo Clinic campus for occasional on-site expectations based on business needs.

This two-year limited tenure position offers an opportunity to play a critical role in Mayo Clinic's Faculty Information Management System (FIMS) and Academic Career Information Modernization (ACIM) program, a strategic enterprise initiative focused on modernizing faculty data, academic career processes, reporting, and supporting technologies. The Translational Informatics Analyst will serve as a lead in data readiness, partnering with business, operational, data, and technical teams to assess data quality, define data governance approaches, support source-of-truth decisions, guide migration readiness activities, and develop analytic solutions that enable successful implementation and adoption.

The ideal candidate will have experience applying informatics, data management, analytics, and systems integration expertise to enterprise transformation initiatives involving data governance, data migration, business process modernization, and cross-functional stakeholder engagement. Experience with healthcare, higher education, faculty information systems, or other complex enterprise business systems is preferred.

Deep understanding of the ways in which information (i.e. meaningful data) is converted into knowledge (i.e. a justified, true belief) and how they contribute to posing hypotheses, developing theories, and proposing experimental tests of new questions suggested by the theories. Identifies substantive problems where different representations, algorithms and methods can be used to inform practice; developing new representations, algorithms and methods as needed.

Expert in the informatics methods used to analyze data and deep knowledge of healthcare data types, topics, approaches, and scientific challenges. Work with subject matter experts and data scientists, software developers, and knowledge engineers to architect translational solutions that derive and represent the knowledge useful to customers. Mastery in architecting newly derived knowledge into workflows. Designs or redesigns software applications to optimize data management, extraction, and analysis as required.

Evaluates and optimizes analytical procedures in the framework of specific projects, group of interconnected projects, or a translational research program. Studies, develops, and applies theories, methods, and processes for the generation, storage, retrieval, use, and management of biomedical data, information, and knowledge. Critical appraisal or design of knowledge representations based on cognitive, social, or organizational theories suitable in the context of real problems, such as the analysis of genomic or clinical data in the electronic health record (EHR).

Studies and develops models to translate clinical data, information and knowledge for use in complex analytics and algorithms. Develops frameworks for cataloging and indexing datasets and algorithms. Expert in the informatics methods used to analyze data and deep knowledge of healthcare data types, topics, approaches, and scientific challenges.
