Think Bank is seeking a candidate with proven leadership skills and a strong background in implementing and maintaining effective risk management practices to serve as our Vice President of Risk Management.
The VP of Risk Management will lead Think Bank’s fraud, compliance, risk, and vendor management teams while partnering closely with the Chief Risk Officer to enhance the bank’s enterprise risk framework and help define our risk management strategy.
This role will oversee regulatory compliance, direct fraud prevention and investigations, and manage all BSA/OFAC responsibilities. By leading high-performing teams, collaborating across business lines, and proactively identifying emerging risks and regulatory developments, this leader will strengthen processes, minimize losses, and reinforce a strong and effective control environment.
Additional Responsibilities- Clearly communicate performance expectations, provide regular feedback based on observation, and ensure employees have the skills and training they need to succeed in their roles.
- Partner with the SVP/Chief Risk Officer to develop, implement, and manage the bank’s enterprise‑wide risk management framework.
- Collaborate with business lines and risk partners to identify potential areas of risk and help strengthen the policies and procedures surrounding these activities
- Ensure organizational compliance with applicable laws, policies, rules and regulations
- Work with other leaders to establish a compliance partnership that enables the bank to efficiently meet customers’ needs while operating within established bank and regulatory guidelines
- Manage fraud prevention activities to minimize the bank’s exposure to risk and losses from fraudulent or unauthorized transactions
- Keep abreast of current and emerging fraud schemes and implement recommended changes to detection and prevention processes
- Serve as the BSA and OFAC Officer to ensure BSA/OFAC regulatory requirements are met while maintaining an atmosphere for operational excellence
- Responsible for the development, implementation, and enhancement of required programs, policies, procedures, and controls in compliance with BSA/AML/CFT/OFAC
- Bachelors degree in business, finance, or related field
- Law degree preferred
- Ten years of progressive experience in risk management in a regulated industry
- Five years management or leadership experience
