We are launching a new digital media and marketing company built on an established creative foundation. Our team already produces high-quality video and content; we are now looking for an entrepreneurial business leader to turn those capabilities into a differentiated, scalable agency.
This is not simply a campaign-management position. The Managing Director will shape the business model, build the client base, lead the team, and take responsibility for the company's overall performance.
What You'll Own- Own revenue growth and performance against revenue targets.
- Personally lead early-stage business development, including prospecting, partnerships, proposals, presentations, and closing new business.
- Build and execute the go-to-market and growth strategy.
- Define the company's positioning, target clients, service portfolio, pricing, and recurring-revenue model.
- Translate client goals into integrated strategies across paid search, paid social, SEO, content, lead generation, conversion, and analytics.
- Lead and develop the creative and marketing team, adding capabilities as the business grows.
- Establish strong client service, delivery, reporting, and performance-management practices.
- Build scalable operating systems, budgets, forecasts, and processes.
- Launch a clearly defined portfolio of services and pricing.
- Establish a qualified and repeatable new-business pipeline.
- Win and retain a target number of recurring clients.
- Implement consistent delivery, reporting, and client-success processes.
- Develop a practical hiring and growth plan for the next stage of the company.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in digital online marketing.
- Experience managing a team is required.
- A track record of leading or helping build a digital marketing agency, business unit, or related professional-services organization.
- Demonstrated success generating revenue and closing client relationships.
- Strong working knowledge of digital acquisition, content strategy, analytics, conversion, and marketing ROI.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary creative and marketing professionals.
- The commercial judgment to balance client outcomes, team capacity, and profitability.
- A builder's mindset: comfortable creating structure, making decisions with incomplete information, and remaining hands-on during the company's early stage.
- Based in Rochester, Minnesota. This role is on-site.
The anticipated base salary range is $100,000–$125,000 per year, plus bonuses tied to growth of the firm.
Other opportunities may be available dependent on experience.
