* This is a unique opportunity to build a high-impact Clinical Risk Management function at one of the world's leading healthcare organizations. The Senior Manager will lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating the clinical, legal, and operational risks associated with patient care events across the Rochester, Minnesota practice.

Grounded in the principles of a Communication and Resolution Program (CRP), this role will build and sustain the operational infrastructure for event intake, triage, escalation, documentation, patient and family communication, caregiver support, and longitudinal follow-up. The Senior Manager will shape the organization's approach to patient care events by advancing a culture of transparency, accountability, learning, and patient-centered care, while strengthening organizational resilience and public trust.

Key Responsibilities:

-    Develop and execute a comprehensive Clinical Risk Management strategy that integrates patient safety, caregiver support, regulatory compliance, and enterprise risk management.

-    Implement the governance and operational capabilities needed to manage complex patient care events and emerging clinical risks, applying principles of just culture, trauma-informed communication, human factors, and organizational learning.

-    Partner with Clinical Operations, Quality, Patient Safety, Patient Experience, Legal, Finance, and executive leadership to ensure a coordinated, consistent, and compassionate response to patient care events.

-    Engage in proactive trend monitoring, translating insights from events, claims, and regulatory activity into mitigation strategies, education, and system-level improvements.

-    Ensure the Clinical Risk Management strategy reflects the five CPHRM domains - Clinical/Patient Safety, Risk Financing, Legal and Regulatory, Health Care Operations, and Claims and Litigation - across role expectations, metrics, escalation pathways, and leadership reporting.

-    Serve as a trusted advisor to physicians, administrators, and executive leaders, helping the organization navigate potential patient harm, regulatory scrutiny, professional liability exposure, and reputational risk.

-    Build training, coaching, and staff support programs that advance trauma-informed communication and just culture practices.

A strategic, collaborative healthcare leader with deep expertise in clinical risk management, patient safety, and regulatory compliance is desired. Equally comfortable advising executives, facilitating difficult conversations after patient events, and coaching teams through complexity - with the judgment and credibility to lead through ambiguity, high emotional intelligence, and the ability to balance compassion and transparency with effective risk mitigation on behalf of patients, families, and care teams.
