Summary
Assembles and/or modifies electronic components, subassemblies, and systems by following specific instructions. Assists in working with other less experienced assemblers.
Responsibilities- Read and follow assembly prints, work instructions, drawings, procedures, and specifications used in the manufacturing of PCBs.
- Identify workmanship and material defects by sight in touch‑up and assembly areas and suggest basic changes to improve operations.
- Perform tasks with a high degree of care and attention to detail while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
- Assemble electronic components, assemblies, and modules using samples, visual aids, wiring lists, and process sheets.
- Maintain accurate material control within the work area.
- Perform inspection of own work in the immediate working unit.
- Provide timely feedback to other operations, management, and support engineering, as appropriate.
- Follow and maintain accurate process documentation.
- Assemble PCBs of intermediate complexity.
- Use a variety of tools to perform tasks.
- Serve as mentor to lesser skilled employees.
- 1+ years of experience in hardware and/or simple optics assembly activities.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic math.
- Ability to use hand tools and associated devices to manufacture PCBs and other electronic assemblies.
- Ability to learn and master all tasks associated with PCB assembly that are assigned.
- Ability to identify electronic components.
- Ability to identify solder non‑conformance and correct them.
- Effective communication, both verbal and written.
- Ability to respond to written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to work with and around chemicals used in the PCB manufacturing process.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
- Ability to obtain and renew certifications on assigned equipment and willingness to cross‑train in other areas.
- Participation in continuous improvement activities.
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.
LocationRochester, MN. Shift 2 (M‑Th 1530‑0200). Full time.
Compensation and BenefitsCompensation range: $17.83 to $19.78 USD, plus shift differential. Benefits include Bonus Plan, 401(k), Paid Time Off, Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance. Benchmark complies with applicable state and local employee leave laws.
