We are looking for a Quality Technician to join the Gauthier team! In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of parts in accordance with customer requirements. You will read and interpret drawings and perform inspections with a variety of measurement tools which may include calipers, micrometers, vision systems and CMM’s. You will be inspecting parts through a variety of operations including laser cutting, CNC turrets, forming, welding, and milling.

You will also be responsible for inspecting and verifying incoming material from suppliers at receiving.

The ideal candidate will have experience using a variety of measurement and inspection tools as well as knowledge of GD&T practices. The ideal candidate will also possess proven use of math, geometry and trigonometry principles. Above all, the ideal candidate will need to possess a willingness to learn and be excited to work in a team environment.

Job Functions:

  • Performing shop floor audits of all production areas and its staff.
  • Completing First Article inspection reports.
  • Identifying and containing non-conforming material.
  • Performing inspection from raw material to finished product.
  • Providing feedback to production personnel with inspection results

Skill Requirements:

  • Proven use of math, geometry and trigonometry
  • Proven use of measuring tools and inspection room equipment
  • Knowledge of blueprint reading, including dimensional symbols and tolerancing
  • Computer knowledge
  • Team player with a willingness to learn new skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completion of 2-year or 4-year post-secondary degree or 2 years of manufacturing experience
  • Proficiency with GD&T concepts and ability to communicate concepts to production personnel
  • Experience operating and/or programming CMM’s using PC-DMIS software.
