Description

Benchmark, driven by its purpose to innovate for a healthier, safer, and better‑connected world, seeks a Production Inspector to ensure quality compliance in the manufacturing of printed circuit boards, systems, and sub‑assemblies.

Summary: The Production Inspector performs routine visual, mechanical, and electrical inspection of printed circuit boards, systems, and sub‑assemblies at several points in the operation to meet quality standards.

Responsibilities
  • Work from detailed Process Sheets, Visual Aid Packages, Engineering Change Orders, Production Change Notices, Critical Item List and other relevant written instructions.
  • Inspect for proper positioning of components, soldering, markings, and other quality requirements related to various manufacturing technologies, including touch‑up or defects found in the inspection process.
  • Obtain and verify the appropriate paperwork and drawings for each job assignment, ensuring correct effective dates.
  • Verify placement, polarity, and labels on circuit boards.
  • Use the Defect Code List to identify defects and route boards to rework/repair facilities.
  • Perform minimal rework/repair duties as necessary.
  • Perform minimal hand solder operations on printed circuit board assemblies.
  • Complete necessary routing tasks per procedure.
  • Enter board and/or systems quantities into the Baan ERP system.
  • Enter data into PFS.
  • Perform duties under close supervision.
  • Check configuration on all assemblies.
  • Provide timely feedback to other operations, management, and support engineering as appropriate.
  • Follow and maintain accurate process documentation and recommend improvements.
  • Comply with and follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Handle work of limited scope, applying standard practices and procedures to analyze situations or data.
  • Maintain stable working relationships internally.
  • Apply professional concepts and company policies to resolve routine issues, ensuring quality meets or exceeds customer satisfaction.
  • Receive detailed instructions and perform duties under close supervision.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of experience in basic electronics manufacturing.
  • Capability to perform one or more of the following: PIR, WPI, FPI, AOI.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Effective multitasking skills and ability to take on additional responsibilities.
  • Effective organization and prioritization skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with diverse groups.
  • Demonstrates discretion, confidentiality, independent judgment, and professionalism.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and guidance, exercising discretion and independent judgment.
  • Understanding and ability to use continuous improvement tools.
  • Strong customer service and client focus.
  • Working knowledge of productivity tools, including Microsoft Office products and Web Ex conferencing software.
  • Ability to support a 24/7 global business operation as required.
  • Willingness to work overtime when needed.
  • Openness to training on new equipment and cross‑training into other site operations.
  • Participation in continuous improvement activity.

Compensation Range: $17.83 to $19.78 USD.
