Assembles and/or modifies electronic components, subassemblies and systems by following specific instructions. Assists in working with other less experienced assemblers.
Responsibilities- Read and follow assembly prints, work instructions, drawings, procedures and specifications used in the manufacturing of PCBs.
- Identify workmanship and material defects in touch‑up and assembly areas and suggest basic changes to improve operations.
- Perform tasks with a high degree of care and attention to detail while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
- Assemble electronic components, assemblies, and modules from samples, visual aids, wiring lists and process sheets.
- Maintain accurate material control within the work area.
- Inspect own work in the immediate working unit.
- Provide timely feedback to other operations, management and support engineering as appropriate.
- Follow and maintain accurate process documentation.
- Assemble PCBs requiring high dexterity and skill.
- Inspect other employee’s work when required.
- Use sophisticated tooling to perform operations.
- Recommend process improvements to management and engineering.
- Serve as mentor and may be back‑up to Team Leader or Supervisor.
- Ensure quality of work to meet or exceed customer satisfaction.
- Work overtime as needed and support continuous improvement activities.
- Safety‑sensitive position; maintain a drug‑free work environment under applicable regulations.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years of specialized/more complex PCB and/or optics assembly.
- 2+ years of experience mentoring others.
- Ability to read, write and perform basic math.
- Proficiency with hand tools and associated devices for PCB assembly.
- Ability to learn and master all tasks associated with PCB assembly.
- Ability to identify electronic components.
- Ability to identify and correct solder non‑conformance.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to respond to written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to work with and around chemicals used in PCB manufacturing.
- Willingness to obtain and renew certifications on assigned equipment and cross‑train in other areas.
Compensation Range: $17.62 to $22.03 USD per hour.
