SummaryAssembles and/or modifies electronic components, subassemblies and systems by following specific instructions. Assists in working with less experienced assemblers.
Responsibilities- Read and follow assembly prints, work instructions, drawings, procedures, and specifications used in the manufacturing of PCBs
- Identify by sight workmanship and material defects in touch‑up and assembly areas and may suggest basic changes to the work instructions to improve operations
- Perform tasks with a high degree of care and attention to detail while maintaining a clean and safe work environment
- Assemble electronic components, assemblies, and modules using samples, visual aids, wiring lists and process sheets
- Maintain accurate material control within the work area
- Inspect own work in the immediate working unit
- Provide timely feedback to other operations, management, and support engineering as appropriate
- Follow and maintain accurate process documentation
- Assemble PCBs with a high degree of dexterity and skill/knowledge
- Inspect other employees’ work when required
- Use the most sophisticated tooling to perform operations
- Recommend process improvements to management and engineering
- Serve as a mentor and may act as backup to a Team Leader or Supervisor
- Ensure the quality of work meets or exceeds customer satisfaction expectations
- High School Diploma or equivalent; 2+ years of specialized/more complex PCB and/or optics assembly experience
- 2+ years of experience mentoring others
- Ability to read, write and perform basic math
- Ability to use hand tools and associated devices to manufacture PCBs and other electronic assemblies
- Ability to learn and master all tasks associated with PCB assembly that are assigned
- Ability to identify electronic components and solder non‑conformance and correct them
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to respond to written and verbal instructions
- Ability to work with and around chemicals used in the PCB manufacturing process
- Willingness to work overtime as needed
- Ability to obtain and renew certifications on assigned equipment and willingness to cross‑train in other areas
- Participation in continuous improvement activities
