Summary: The Production Inspector performs routine visual, mechanical and electrical inspection of printed circuit boards, systems and sub‑assemblies at several points in the operation for quality in compliance with required standards.

Responsibilities
  • Works from detailed Process Sheets, Visual Aid Packages, Engineering Change Orders, Production Change Notices, Critical Item List and other relevant written instructions.
  • Inspects for proper positioning of components, soldering, markings, and other quality requirements related to various manufacturing technologies, including touch‑up or defects found in the inspection process.
  • Obtains the appropriate paperwork and necessary drawings for each job assignment and verifies the paperwork as the correct effective date.
  • Verifies placement, polarity and labels on circuit boards.
  • Uses Defect Code List to identify defects and route boards to rework/repair facilities.
  • Performs minimal rework/repair duties as necessary.
  • Performs minimal hand solder operations on printed circuit board assemblies.
  • Completes necessary routing tasks per procedure.
  • Enters board and/or systems quantities into the Baan ERP system.
  • Inputs data into PFS.
  • Performs duties under close supervision.
  • Checks configuration on all assemblies.
  • Participates in providing timely feedback to other operations, management and support engineering as appropriate.
  • Follows and maintains accurate process documentation and recommends improvements.
  • Complies with and follows all company policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Works on problems of limited scope, following standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained. Builds stable working relationships internally.
  • Applies company policies and procedures to resolve routine issues, ensuring BEI meets or exceeds customer satisfaction.
  • Receives detailed instructions on all work and performs duties under close supervision.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ year of experience in basic electronics manufacturing.
  • May perform one or more of the following: PIR, WPI, FPI, AOI.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Effective multitasking skills and ability to take on additional responsibilities as required.
  • Effective organization and prioritization skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with diverse groups.
  • Demonstrates discretion, confidentiality, independent judgment and professionalism.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and guidance, exercising discretion and independent judgment.
  • Understanding of and ability to use continuous improvement tools.
  • Strong customer service and client focus.
  • Working knowledge of productivity tools, including Microsoft Office products and Web Ex conferencing software.
  • Ability to support a 24/7 global business operation as required.
  • Ability to work overtime when needed.
  • Willingness to train on new equipment and cross‑train into other site operations as needed.
  • Participates in continuous improvement activity.
Compensation and Benefits

Compensation Range: $17.83 to $19.78 USD per hour.

Drug Testing and Safety

This position is classified as a safety‑sensitive position. Benchmark may conduct a pre‑employment drug screen, including testing for THC where permitted by law. Benchmark maintains a drug‑ and alcohol‑free workplace and may conduct reasonable‑suspicion and post‑incident testing in accordance with applicable law.
