Production Manager, Production QC/QA
Summary
Under direction of a Supervisor or Manager, ensures all necessary tasks are performed per work instructions and procedures to manufacture product to meet quality goals, daily schedule or customer needs. May assist in the training of new employees in the area.
Responsibilities- Participate in process improvement efforts in order to continually improve product quality and output and also to reduce downtime; activities might include Kaizen sessions and other formal quality improvement initiatives.
- Ensure others perform tasks with a high degree of care and attention to minimize loss of time and material.
- Ensure team members follow work instructions, procedures, drawings and customer specifications as required.
- Respond to written and verbal direction.
- Monitor individuals' work habits and performance.
- Continuously monitor quality and provide feedback to co‑workers.
- Ensure scrap is properly disposed of at the end of each shift.
- Assist in facilitating shift overlap.
- Communicate all issues to the supervisor in a timely manner.
- Continue to increase process knowledge of product.
- Lead by example and support management objectives and BEI policies.
- May act as backup for the Supervisor or Team Leader II, as needed (i.e., absence, weekend support, etc.).
- Work on problems of limited scope.
- Follow standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained.
- Learn to use professional concepts.
- Apply company policies and procedures to resolve routine issues.
- Normally receive general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new projects or assignments.
- May be required to operate heavy equipment such as forklifts and scissor lifts.
- High School Diploma or GED; 0-2+ years of material/warehouse experience.
- Knowledgeable in processes to fully support a shift without additional support.
- Ability to use any equipment required in the functioning of the work center.
- Communicate effectively, in both written and verbal formats.
- Effectively mentor employees on more basic level tasks.
- Understanding of and ability to use continuous improvement tools.
- Ability to drive solutions to planning issues with direction from management.
- Ability to support a 24/7 global business operation, as required.
- Effective analytical, planning, and organizational skills.
- Effective interpersonal skills with employees.
- Effective problem solving skills.
- Demonstrate discretion, confidentiality and professionalism when representing the company.
