Rochester, MN location, part of the Applied Health and Nutrition Division, specializes in fermented ingredients for the bio-science industry. The facility is located at 2402 7th Street NW, Rochester, MN 55901.

Operate spray dryer equipment, connect tanks and piping, perform sanitation and housekeeping procedures, and follow established procedures to achieve QC‑approved products with optimal yields at lowest costs.

• Perform tank and piping connections for spray dryers, ensuring connections for drying products on R3 dryer and holding tanks, and connections for CIP of dryers.
• Perform CIP of spray dryers, dryer holding tanks, and line circuits following the selected CIP cycle on FIX screen according to established procedures for recipes, cycles, and chemicals.
• Operate spray dryers, including startup and operation of the R3 dryer, floor scales, pumps, motors, chart recorders, and instruments; monitor and record processing data.
• Use established process descriptions and job analysis information for control of propane or natural gas, powder conveying fans and lines.
• Operate computer systems including FIX operator interface, Quality system, and Excel for tracking historical trends, CIP system, dryer recipe selection, and work with SAP from start to finish of the spray dryer batches.
• Wash and clean equipment per the sanitation manual; follow GMP program and rules.
• Operate forklift.

High school diploma or GED.

None required. Six months to one year experience in a food manufacturing environment desirable.

• Ability to work alone and in close cooperation with production personnel; capable of working through complex problems alone or with others to provide logical solutions.
• Physical demands: ability to walk and stand regularly; frequently climb stairs and ladders; reach, bend/stoop, crouch, squat, push/pull, manipulate; lift products up to 35 pounds regularly, occasional lifts up to 40 pounds.
• Vision, hearing, sense of smell, reading and writing required; speaking not essential.
